The industry is abuzz with news of a possible Kannada venture for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Rumours suggest that the actor has been approached for a lead role in Kannada film director Ravi Srivatsa's next - which is said to be a political satire. What's even more surprising is that the superstar is said to be cast opposite south
actress Namitha in this film.
Incidentally, Mohanlal has been part of just one Kannada film through his career. The 2004 film Love , which starred debutant Aditya and the then reigning queen Rakshita, saw the Mollywood star play a taxi driver in Dubai - wherein he helps the lead pair get together.
While Mohanlal himself is currently in London, to watch the ongoing Olympics, Kannada filmmaker Munirathna tells us, "I hope to be able to cast the star in this film, but the deal is not finalised as of now. I will be able to confirm the cast only after 20 days."
Incidentally, Mohanlal is expected to return from his London holiday only after 20 days. However, the star is expected to dive in to work immediately. His first is the Malayalam film Karmayodha , to be directed by Major Ravi. Looks like he will have to bend over backwards to be able to make time for a Kannada venture
